How Dressings Work

Not very long ago, dressings consisted of no more than absorbent pads with something to hold them in place. Today, with our greater understanding of wounds and how they heal, we know that different wounds need different conditions to promote healing and that therefore they will require different dressings.

Modern dressings have become very sophisticated and it may seem as if there is a special dressing for every wound. All have one purpose in common - to help the wound heal.
